Tasting Notes
Shimmering white gold in the glass, Zephyr offers an incredible bouquet – white flowers, Dry Creek peach, lemon zest and sharp, piercing saltiness. The high-octane palate is dense and powerful, but lifted with a tremendous freshness. The vineyard speaks clearly of its coastal origins. Surprisingly open in its infancy, but would be worth checking back in on a few years from now.

"A bright yellow/silver color, the 2023 Chardonnay Zephyr is from a cool climate site in Freestone above the valley, planted to the Mt. Eden clone. The palate has an elegant mouthfeel along with lovely notes of lime cordial and salty earth. It has a wild, savory feel, with its toasted spices coming through on the finish. It,s one of my favorite wines I,ve ever tasted from Ceritas. It feels so complete, with purity and fantastic length, as well as underlying density and ripeness, within a medium-bodied frame. Drink 2026-2040."

"The 2023 Chardonnay Zephyr is laced with dried pear, chamomile, crushed flowers, mint, dried leaves, spice and tangerine peel. This is an especially savory, nuanced Chardonnay with a lot of earthy character. Fruit is pushed into the background."
