Tasting Notes

Due to Eigashima Shuzo’s coastal climate, Akashi whiskies are imparted with a unique briny quality that is especially apparent in the Akashi Single Malt. This elegant single malt is aged approximately 5-8 years in a combination of ex-bourbon, barley shochu, and sherry casks, as well as new oak barrels. The resulting whisky is lush, yet delicate, with notes of yellow apple, white chocolate, and a prominent hit of salted caramel. Subtle peat and oceanic salinity ride a long, buttery finish. 46% ABV.
