The first vines at The Terraces, originally called Quarry Vineyard, were planted on steep hillsides in 1981 by Wayne Hogue, divided equally between Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. The Crull family purchased the property in 2001, and grew to Chardonnay, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc, and Riesling.

Tidings is the personal project of Napa Valley winemaker Reid Griggs, focused on classically styled, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons made with restraint, patience, and reverence for site. Produced in small quantities and guided by traditional technique, the wines rely on wild yeasts, careful élevage, and time rather than manipulation. Turley makes 50 separate wines from 50 different vineyards, some with vines dating back to the late 1800s. Often low yielding, these vineyards require extra care and attention in order to reflect their aged glory. All of the vineyards are organic, and only natural yeasts are used.
