La Bernarde is an historic property in the village of Luc in the Côtes de Provence that has been restored by the owners of Commanderie de Peyrassol, utilizing the same winemaking team. This rock-laden limestone hillside that neighbors the famed Peyrassol, produces what many consider to be the noblest rosé in Provence. At nearly 300m above sea level, the village sees snow most winter, allowing for a longer and more balanced ripening of the grapes. In fact, harvests in this area start on average 10 days later than the lower lying sites. The high altitude, cooler micro-climate sets La Bernarde apart from the hot flatlands of St. Tropez and the rest of Provence.
