"Welcome to the smoke hole. But if you have just a little patience, then a terrific stony raciness, beautiful stone fruit and orange blossom aromas open up. The energy and chalky complexity on the compact, medium-bodied palate are stunning, then comes a wave of herbal and stony complexity in the long, cool finish. From a south-facing site with a soil weathered from an ancient coral reef. From biodynamically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold."

"The 2023 Gerümpel Wachenheim P.C. is clear, bright, elegant and fresh in its pure and aromatic bouquet that's on the lemon side of the fruit spectrum. Rich and generous but elegant and refined on the palate, this is a full-bodied, savory and textural Riesling with delicate and finely grained acidity and round, lush, intense and slightly creamy fruit. The finish is long and complex and really substantial. 12.5% stated alcohol. Diam 30 cork. Tasted at the domaine in January 2025."

"The 2024 Riesling Wachenheimer Gerümpel P.C. is from a tiny production of just 600 liters on terraces that combine basalt and sandstone. Its immense juiciness is apparent from the off with both citrus and yellow plum. The palate still trembles with smokiness but it has immense flow. Like the sea washing around rock, once it recedes, what is left is stone. The 2024 is lovely. Bone-dry"

"This offers a refreshing experience, with lively citrus notes and a touch of sweetness. While it may not have the complexity of some peers, it shines with its approachable charm, making it a delightful choice for easy sipping on a warm afternoon. Skurnik Wines, Inc. "A.Z."

"In spite of the wide spectrum of yellow fruits in the nose it remains cool and very precise. Wonderful tension and freshness with so much smoky character. At the very focused long finish this is as stony as it is salty. Already a beauty, this has excellent potential. From biodynamically grown grapes. Wild-fermented in large neutral oak. Vegan. Drink or hold."

"The 2022 Riesling Wachenheimer Gerümpel P.C. is next to the Pechstein, with some basalt within the Triassic sandstone. A zestiness lies over the yeasty creaminess on the nose. The palate has the stony finesse of sandstone, fine-boned almost insistent with freshly squeezed lemon, so textured, so pithy, going all out on salty lemon and preserved lemon peel with a yeasty undertow. It's zesty, lip-smacking and so unusual for 2022. (Bone-dry)"
