Albarín Blanco 'Rara Avis'

100% Albarín (no relation to Albariño) • sourced from one hectare of vines planted in the 1960s and 70s (the oldest Albarín vines in the appellation) in Villamañán on pebbly clay at 800m altitude  fermented spontaneously in neutral 500L French barriques • aged for five years under flor in neutral 225L and 550L barrels (the 2018 had an unusually long elevage and was in fact released after the 2019 due to its potent cool-vintage structure)
