"The 2019 Verdicchio di Matelica Riserva Senex does not disappoint. It delivers a powerful bouquet of apricot, yellow peach and melon laced with candied lime. The Senex washes across the palate with real heft, displaying a pretty inner sweetness up front that is quickly contrasted by a whiplash of vibrant acidity. It's long and stimulating to the senses, finishing with masses of herbal-laced citrus that cleanse the palate for another opulent sip. The 2019 is beautiful today, but it has serious cellar potential."

"With only 3,894 bottles released last year, the Bisci 2018 Verdicchio di Matelica Riserva Senex is a spectacular wine with impressive depth and complexity. The bouquet reveals soft swells of tropical fruit, green melon, kiwi and crushed stone. The effect is very silky and fine; however, the wine offers beautiful length. There is ample volume too and dimension, which bodes well for the long-term aging potential of this bottle. This special wine represents a culmination of experience and wisdom."

"Bright acidity weaves through flavors of green-apple skin and spiced almond. The wine feels cool and refreshing. Tautly knit at present, this should unwind nicely with a year or two of cellaring."
