"The 2025 Syrah PS is loaded with saline, peppery character, with clean dark raspberry fruit, oil-cured olive, white pepper, eucalyptus and violet. Surprisingly approachable and yielding, it is also a notably more generous wine than past editions. Rich yet upright, the 2025 marks a fabulous new direction for this project. A long, savory finish wraps things up in beautiful style."

"A vivid and distinctive wine with black olive, mushroom and licorice aromas that go deeper on the palate. Medium-bodied with moderate tannins and a long and lingering finish. So distinctive and adventurous. Drink or hold."

"The 2022 PS Syrah opens with a smoldering, beautiful nose of charcoal embers, lavender, olive brine and faint hints of vanilla pod. The palate is rich and layered, landing in a decadently savory, animalistic finish"a fantastically overperforming regional wine."

"The 2022 Syrah PS bright, punchy and full of character. This gorgeous cool-climate Syrah hits all the right notes. Hints of black pepper, lavender and clove play off a core of dark-toned fruit. Most of this fruit is from Hines, a young site in the Sta. Rita Hills. This is nicely done."

"Very dark garnet. Smells of dark berries and herbs. Wonderfully savoury flavours of underbrush, herbs and meaty dark berries possess a faintly smoky quality, accentuated by powdery tannins. Excellent acidity that has a saline quality at times, and other moments comes across as iron or iodine. Delicious and exceptional value. VGV (AY) 13.4%"

"Offers a complex and savory entry of grilled rosemary, peppercorn and candied bacon, with an intense, floral black currant note underneath. Built around a rich core of brambly berries and black plum on a medium frame. Brine-like acidity pushes things to the well-formed finish around refined tannins. Drink now through 2034. 2,436 cases made. "Aaron Romano"

"The 2021 Syrah Santa Barbara County is scented of black raspberries, candied blackberries, cracked pepper, smoked meats and green olive. The medium-bodied palate is bright and chalky with restrained yet nuanced fruit and a long, latent finish. I would be inclined to drink it on the earlier side after a couple hours in a decanter, and its freshness will allow it to pair widely at the table. 2,436 cases produced."
