The first of a handful of US-exclusive single casks from Kanosuke Distillery was first aged nearly four years in an ex–bourbon cask before being transferred to an ex–IPA beer cask for an additional sixteen months of aging. This IPA cask—originally an ex–bourbon cask used to age Kanosuke single malt whisky—was given to Tokushima craft brewery Rise & Win, where it was used to rest one of their IPAs for roughly three months. The result is a perfect marriage of bright, citrusy hops and Kanosuke’s bold signature malt.
