"This pinot noir village wine is a beauty, with a fantastic balance of black cherry fruit, subtle oak, velvety fruit tannins and delicate earthy undertones. Still very young, but with a wonderful elegance and excellent length. Drink or hold."

"From a fossil-rich soil from the Triassic period, Dautel's 2021 Spätburgunder Cleebronn opens with a fresh and pure, finely concentrated and slightly reductive nose with delicate red berry and cherry aromas. Juicy, fresh and refined on the palate, this is a medium-bodied and elegant Pinot with fine tannins and a linear course over the palate. The acidity is young and fresh yet delicate and interwoven with the silky-juicy texture of this well balanced and stimulating Pinot that was bottled with 12.5% stated alcohol under natural cork. Tasted in March 2024."

"Lots of character. Maybe just a little light for mass-market appeal. Cuts off a bit suddenly. (JR)"
