Ried Gaisberg:
Ried Gaisberg belongs to three villages (Kammern, Zöbing and Strass) and is situated just east of Heiligenstein. "The 2021 Riesling Ried Gaisberg is on gneiss, schist and amphibolite. Crushed ivy and citrus leaf overlay an almost savory, salty notion of wet earth. The palate is rounded and juicy—almost bouncy with lively energy. Bright, lemon-fringed stone fruit notes skip away in such a joyful fashion that the underlying stony seriousness is almost skipped over. In coming years, the stoniness will gain the upper hand, but, for now, the playfulness of these aromas—leafy top notes and citric charm—quite rightly enjoy the limelight. This is lovely and slender, with a serious, stony, cool core and a beautifully long finish. (Bone-dry)"

"The 2021 Ried Gaisberg 1–TW offers a clear, very aromatic, finely spiced, dense and yeasty nose with partly concentrated and overripe fruit notes. It is elegant and juicy on the palate as well as intense and delicately creamy, with well-integrated acidity. It has a complex, well-structured and salty finish with good length. This is a surprisingly baroque style for this vintage and with corresponding richness. It is quite loud overall but still young. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at Schloss Grafenegg, September 2023."
