This Pinot Noir is made with grapes from the top vineyards Dechant and Käferberg.
The Dechant vineyard soils are comprised of calcareous loess-clay and clay with ancient rock and gravel deposits higher up on the south-east facing slope.
The Käferberg vineyard is located at the top of an eastern slope – about 300 meters above sea level – in the town of Langenlois. The soil is layers of sand, primary rock and calcareous marine deposits.

"A stunning Austrian pinot noir that you could easily mistake for a Burgundian Premier Cru. Very fine tannins and elegant mineral acidity interlock beautifully on the silky medium-bodied palate. Excellent concentration and a very long, refined finish. From organically grown grapes."

"Red berries, tea leaves, porcini mushrooms and spice box on the nose of this classy, spicy and complex red. It's medium-bodied with excellent concentration. Very fine, but firm tannins frame the spicy fruit. Just opening up. Pinot noir from the Kaferberg vineyard. From organically grown grapes. Unfiltered. Drink or hold."

"The 2021 Pinot Noir Reserve is a selection of the best Pinot Noir barrels, all sourced from the Käferberg. Dark cherry is pure and aromatic on the nose, with a tender lift that almost adds a coniferous edge. The palate is serene, showing a purity of fine dark and red cherry, profound, silky and only very slightly smoky. This is a most elegant wine with superb freshness and a delicious crunch from starched-silk tannins."
