"Very firm and dark, laced with graphite, ash and crushed rock aromas, then black pepper, white pepper and lean, savory mineral flavors animate the palate. Fine-grained tannins and a medium body. Here the soil is very rich in iron and volcanic minerals, giving small yields, a lean, racy texture and so much complexity. Drink or hold."

"Mulberry and raspberry fruit leads the way in this red, with flashes of iris and hibiscus peeking in. There's a rapier of fresh acidity for spine while bay leaf, savory and wet slate notes add underlying tension throughout. The lovely pinpoint finish has a steady persistence. Best from 2026 through 2038. 727 cases made.—J.M."

"The coiled, intense 2023 Pinot Noir Bloom's Field is dark-fruited and floral on the nose, leading to a multidimensional palate that combines textural depth and breadth with stunning saturation and focus. The palate is vibrant and juicy yet tempered by a dark undercurrent of intense tannic structure and considerable length on the finish. This will surely take time to come around after bottling, but it should evolve into a stunning rendition of this bottling."

"A juicy, well-built red, with a structured core of dark cherry and boysenberry fruit harnessed by streaks of wet stone, savory and tobacco, while bay and sandalwood hints peek in on the finish. This is still tight, coiled and steely, but the energy is there for unfurling in the cellar. Best from 2025 through 2038. —J.M."

"The 2022 Pinot Noir Bloom's Field is bright, punchy and alluring. Red-toned fruit, chalk, mint, spice and dried flowers infuse this savory, mineral-driven Pinot with tons of character. The 2022 is nervy and taut to its core, but another year in bottle should do the trick. Hints of white pepper, blood orange and pomegranate linger on the vibrant, translucent finish."

"The 2022 Pinot Noir Bloom's Field is the most red-fruited and floral of the roster, opening on a reserved note but ceaselessly escalating in intensity. The palate takes a dramatically powerful, saturated turn into a slow-moving, opulent yet classy finish that ceaselessly builds tannic power without adding an ounce of weight. Serious and unyielding despite its deceptively delicate framing, this merits time in the cellar to unwind but should evolve wonderfully over the next decade."
