- Sourced from the Damsteep Vineyard, in the Omihi subdistrict of Waipara Valley, North Canterbury
- This north-facing 140m-280m ASL hillside vineyard is planted on very dense clay (brown to orange in color) and inter bedded with sandstones and subordinate limestone horizons
- Planted in 2000, this site is BioGro Certified Organic as of 2017 and Demeter Certified Biodynamic as of 2023
- Hand harvested
- Whole punch pressed using a long and gentle press cycle
- The juice is then settled for 48 hours then racked to small stainless-steel tanks and large neutral barrels
- Native fermentation
- Aged in the same vessels for 12 months with lees contact
- Vessels blended and settled for a further three months on fine lees before bottling
- Unfined and unfiltered

"The 2024 Riesling Damsteep is firm yet fresh, with juicy citrus, ripe apple fruit and pretty florals. On the weightier side of light-bodied, it offers good intensity of fruit and succulent textures through the palate. Fermentation in oval tanks and large barrels is likely a factor in its curves. There's no shortage of acidity, which combines with ripe phenolics to provide an assured and grippy finish."
