"The 2024 Riesling Detzemer Maximin Klosterlay is from a blue slate site that is a touch cooler, with vines planted in the 1970s. A gentle creaminess emerges on the shy nose, with mere glimpses of lemon. The palate comes with exquisite direction and determination, yet expressed with gentleness. All is exquisitely slender but so wonderfully substantial and compact, with a creamy, lemony, sunny aspect and real, lasting saltiness. This is supremely elegant in 2024. Dry"

"This super-elegant, dry Mosel riesling is brimming with wildflower aromas. Super-stony on the sleek, medium-bodied palate, the racy acidity driving the long, pristine, precise finish that is as pointed as a stiletto. Vegan. Drink or hold."

"The 2023 Riesling Detzemer Maximin Klosterlay comes from blue slate and that salty, stony verve is beautifully depicted on the nose with a salty tone that almost has a floral edge. The palate is superbly bright, with a lemony core and a pithy edge that almost has a licorice bitterness. The wine homes in on that slaty stoniness on its taut, bright lemon finish."

"A fragile beauty that needs some time to give its best, maybe you could even say it is a sleeping beauty. Sleek and lithe with underplayed depth and delicate white peach fruit, this shows best at the long slatey finish that is very fresh, but anything other than tart. Vegan. Drinkable now, but best from 2024."

"This offers a vibrant bouquet of fruit and floral notes. Rich and well-structured, it presents a harmonious balance that lingers on the palate. The long finish showcases its complexity, making it a delightful choice for both casual sipping and special occasions. Skurnik Wines, Inc. —A.Z."
