"Very fresh, precise fruit here, showing a mix of black and red cherries, crunchy plums and a hint of violets and mussel shells. Quite pure and detailed with medium body and a long, juicy finish. Pristine, elegant and lightly peppery at the end."

"I was extremely impressed with the 2023 Credo Malbec Altamira, which I found to be every bit the equal of its stablemate from old vines in El Peral, making for a perfect example of young vines in a superior terroir delivering as much depth and complexity as old vines in a slightly less optimal one. From a vineyard planted in 2008, it was vinified similarly in concrete eggs with a small addition of stems and aged for two winters. As is consistent with wines from Altamira, it delivers a more refined and understated profile overall, with a touch more tension and lift that provides a lovely counterpoint to the El Peral's more enveloping texture. The finish is long, lifted, resonant and chalky, lingering with ultra-refined, nearly grainless tannins and the region's signature touch of retronasal perfume."

"This shows subtle aromas of tea, hibiscus and cherries. The palate is incisive and concentrated, yet marked by subtlety and precision, with focused tannins. Saline, persistent and delicate. Made from an old vineyard planted in El Peral. The grapes are destemmed and cold-soaked with gentle infusion-style extraction, then aged in barrels. Focused, delicious, expressive and incredibly approachable. Drink now or hold."

"Another stand-out in the Escala Humana portfolio is the 2022 Credo Malbec. It originates from El Peral and underwent a 30-40 day maceration with 30% stem inclusion before basket pressing and maturing in 500-liter well-seasoned Fran‡ois FrŠres barrels. Opening with a deep, measured and refined bouquet of opaque fruits, purple flowers and escalating spice-driven accents, the palate is seamless, elegant and dense while maintaining a taut, lifted core. It concludes with an intense, rich finish elongated by ultra-refined tannins and impeccable composure. This is a compelling and sophisticated expression of Uco Valley Malbec with a stylistic nod to Cornas."
