Variety: Riesling • Region: Mosel • Vineyard: Leiwener Klostergarten • Soil Type: Slate • Fermentation & Élevage: Natural fermentation in stainless steel
This is an estate wine, all from the Leiwener Klostergarten, from older vines that they purchased in the 1980s. Since then, they have had to plant some younger vines, but they took the material from the best quality old vines from the site.
‘Quant’ is a word in the regional dialect that is a down-to-earth way to say something is good. Christopher says, “It expresses a feeling of complete well-being” and is typically used in atmospheres where family, friends, and food are present.
Unlike a lot of gutsriesling, these are grapes harvested deeper in the harvest with slightly higher ripeness, resulting in a wine has a beautiful fruit character and density while retaining blissful drinkability.
