Brauneberger Juffer:
Named for a former nunnery located on the site, this renowned Grosse Lage is comprised of blue Devonian slate with iron inclusions and nearly due south exposition. There are ungrafted vines in the vineyard that are over 70 years old. This vineyard is extremely steep at 85% at its most extreme. Lieser’s holding are from the best parcels in the middle section or “filet piece” of the vineyard.

"A super-filigree Spatlese with great precision and delicacy on the barely medium-bodied palate that feels almost weightless in spite of the undeniable unfermented grape sweetness. Stunning succulence at the very long complete finish where there's just a hint of caramel. Excellent aging potential. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold."
