Brauneberger Juffer:
Named for a former nunnery located on the site, this renowned Grosse Lage is comprised of blue Devonian slate with iron inclusions and nearly due south exposition. There are ungrafted vines in the vineyard that are over 70 years old. This vineyard is extremely steep at 85% at its most extreme. Lieser’s holding are from the best parcels in the middle section or “filet piece” of the vineyard.

"The 2024 Riesling Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Grosses Gewächs is rather shy on the nose, with only the merest hint of apple. The palate is fluid, slender and almost emollient with a beautifully smooth intensity that holds ripe lemon and stone notes in equal measure. It has extract, suppleness and much serenity, all on a wonderfully contoured body. The 2024 is understated but long. Dry"
