"The 2023 Grenache Vie Caprice is rich, concentrated and structured, a muscular interpretation of the variety. Iron, grilled meat and herbs flesh out atop a core of deep, purple fruit. This needs time to settle into itself."

"Light to medium garnet. Smells of flowers, strawberries and dried herbs. Beautifully elegant flavours of strawberry, herb and floral notes are textured with dusty tannins and made energetic by excellent acidity. Thrumming with energy and vibrancy, over a concrete floor of stony minerality. Gorgeous. (AY)"

"The 2022 Grenache Vie Caprice, from a site in Santa Ynez, is one of the more restrained wines in this range. Dried cherry, leather, spice, tobacco and cedar are front and center, while fruit is pushed into the background. This is a stylistic outlier in this lineup"Alban clone tends to yield naturally richer wines, making the style here feel a bit forced."

"From a site in the Santa Ynez Valley and 100% Grenache, the medium ruby-hued 2022 Grenache Vie Caprice Vineyard has a peppery, herbal, spring flower-driven perfume as well as vibrant raspberry fruit, medium body, beautiful balance, and a clean, lengthy finish."
