"The 2023 Grenache Shake Ridge Ranch is seamless, energetic and rich without heaviness. Wild blueberry, new leather, sweet pipe tobacco and exotic spice tones blossom with air. This higher-elevation site yielded a wine of texture and grip in 2023, quite an attractive combination. Some slightly reductive funk blows off with air, but the Shake Ridge remains a bit taut through the mid-palate. Give it time in bottle."

"The translucent medium ruby 2023 Grenache Shake Ridge Ranch is medium-bodied, juicy, and elegant, with pretty red fruits, sappy, spring flower, and rose petal nuances, ripe, supple, integrated tannins, and outstanding length. It's balanced, has lots of character, and should keep nicely for 5-7 years or so. It's 100% Grenache fermented with 42% whole clusters and aged 11 months in neutral barrels. Drink 2025-2032."

"Light garnet. Aromas of strawberry, earth, green herbs and flowers. Fleecy tannins turn muscular as they grip flavours of strawberry, sour cherry, red-apple skin and dried herbs. Notes of herbs and flowers linger in the finish. Outstanding acidity and stony depth. (AY)"

"The 2022 Grenache Shake Ridge Ranch is light-bodied, ethereal and very pretty, in an eccentric style that very much reflects the challenges of the growing season. Orange peel, crushed red berries and gentle sweet spice all waft from the glass. Two frost events and severe heat in early September pushed these vines to the absolute limit."
