"Andreas Adam and his sister Barbara farm this rocky, gray-slate parcel in Dhroner Hofberg, offering a soil-driven feinherb riesling, as if drawing its flavor detail from the veins of iron oxide underground. The conglomerate of fruit—lime and lemon and melon—has a mouthwatering tingle of acidity. A bit tamped down in its youth, this is more generous after three days open, fresh and intriguing. Decant it to let the flavors open over the course of an evening."

"The 2023 Riesling in der Sengerei feinherb comes from a dell within the Dhroner Hofberg, picked from 70-year-old vines. The nose offers earth and flint at first, while the palate is vibrant with freshly grated Amalfi lemon zest, almost exuding lemon oil. Its supremely salty smoothness bears this out. Yes, it has residual sweetness, but it sinks into the lemon exuberance and salty slate. This is enduring, exquisite, pure, lithe and so impressive, with 17 g/L of residual sweetness."

"Brimming with white and yellow peaches and sliced pears, this barely off-dry Mosel riesling is simultaneously succulent and super-fresh. So bright and elegant, but with great underplayed power that then reveals itself at the crescendo of the finish. From 70-year-old vines. Fermented and matured on the lees in well-used Fuder casks, like all of this producer's single-vineyard wines. Drink or hold."
