"#11 Top 100 Wines of Portugal: Charming and precise. Struck match and dried lemons on the nose, with subtle layers of dried herbs. The medium- to full-bodied palate is saline, textural and incisive, showing great balance between fruit, acidity and phenolic grip. 36% bical, 28% fernao pires, 14% dona branca, 11% encruzado and 11% malvasia fina. Fermented and aged in French oak. From two old vineyards in Nelas and Gouveia, this shows real depth. Drink or hold."

"The 2023 Revela Vinhas Velhas Branco is pale, subtle, delicate and elegant. It comes from old vines in the Serra da Estrela zone, Bical, Fernão Pires, Dona Branca, Encruzado and Malvasía Fina, from a cooler part of Dão but where the early-ripening grapes are harvested before the ones in Nelas. It comes in at 13% alcohol, with a pH of 3.23 and 6.45 grams of acidity, denoting good ripeness and development of aromas and flavors and very good freshness and acidity. It has a Burgundian touch. It fermented and matured in a used 225-liter barrel and a new 300-liter one. It reveals notes of pollen, white flowers and herbs and a spicy and smoky twist. It has a medium-bodied, balanced and elegant palate, ending with freshness and a bitter twist. Only 645 bottles and 20 magnums produced. It was bottled in June 2024."
