This single vineyard Cinsault comes from a plot of silty, sandy granite that includes a high portion of stones. Fermentation, 30% of which was whole cluster, took place in concrete tank utilizing indigenous yeasts. Aging took place in 1,500-liter oak vats for 11 months prior to bottling. Named after John Coltrane, the “Trane” Cinsault is full of the energy, tension, and complexity found in each of Coltrane’s jazz recordings.
