"Fabulously layered, creamy, delicate and mellow, with honey, almond, chalk and macadamia nut flavors on a rich texture, ending with a long, lacy finish. An indulgent, mouth-coating wine that doesn't get heavy. Drink or hold."

"The 2022 Chardonnay William Hines is a terrific debut from this young site in the Sta. Rita Hills. It impresses with its energy and cut, revealing nicely delineated notes of citrus peel, white pepper, white flowers and a touch of oak. The Hines Chardonnay is very fine, but it will be even better as the vines get older."

"From a newer site that winemaker Sashi Moorman helped plan, the 2022 Chardonnay William Hines Vineyard comes from a north-facing section planted to Clone 76. The nose leads with a pleasing combination of intensely focused, smoky, saline notes against a backdrop of toasty richness. The palate is less intensely focused than the nose, highlighting a round, stone-fruited texture propped up with a balancing spine of acidity."

"Sleek and mouthwatering in its intensity, with spice accents. Shows touches of cardamom and candied ginger that complement the white peach, apricot, apple and citrus notes. A lovely harmony emerges on the finish, with details of green tea and lemon basil that linger. Drink now. 246 cases made."
