"In a screw-cap bottle, the Domaine Skouras 2023 Chardonnay Almyra shows a light golden color with a distant emerald shine. Aromas of field flower, daisy, chamomile, citrus and crushed seashell stand immediately to attention. The label shows a shell, and this wine is indeed quite marine and mineral in character thanks to the vines' close proximity to the seashore. Sea breezes blow in salt sediment, and I'm told that you can hear the salt cracking as you walk through the vineyard in summer months. To the palate, it delivers the creamy structure and pretty intensity of Chardonnay. The wine is partially (just 30%) fermented in barrique, and it completes malolactic fermentation before maturing sur lie for six months. Production is 30,000 bottles."
