Brandy, VSOP Napoleon

• VSOP French brandy produced by Distillerie de Chevanceaux in Saint-Palais-de-Négrignac, France
• Distilled in a Coffey column still
• Blend of Colombard, Merlot, Muscat, and Airen grapes: blend may vary batch to batch
• Aged a minimum of 4 years; aged for a minimum of one year in 400-liter toasted French oak casks (with a small percentage of new oak) before being blended with older brandies from the chai
• 40% ABV

Though this French brandy is only four years old (the minimum requirement for VSOP designation), its barrels see dynamic aging in the distillery’s chai, with a dry climate and temperature swings, that ensures this unique blend of grape varieties (cépages) gets the maximum benefit from it’s time spent in oak.
