"The 2016 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Verzenay Fins Lieux #6 Is stellar. Chardonnay bristles with tension and energy in the finely sculpted, vibrant Blanc de Blancs from David Pehu. Lemon oil, chalk, mint, white pepper and slate all race across the palate. This is such a gorgeous and distinctive Champagne"a real archetype of Verzenay. Dosage is 1.5 grams per liter. "The 2014 Champagne Grand Cru Verzenay Fins Lieux No. 6 Les Basses Correttes Extra Brut is a pale silver straw color but reveals a much more rounded nose of brioche, fresh bread, quince, wildflowers, and poached apples. The mousse enhances the spice and has a pithy texture with broader shoulders and a long finish. This impressive wine is going to drink well over the next 15 or more years."
