Assyrtiko 'The North'

Assyrtiko The North

100% Assyrtiko from a vineyard at 700m altitude in the Agios Panteleimon district of Amyndeon. The poor, sandy soil results in low yields of exquisitely high-quality and aromatically rich grapes. Fermented in tank and aged in tank on the fine lees for 4-5 months before bottling.

"The Kir-Yianni 2025 Assyrtiko The North High Altitude Wine is a playful interpretation of a grape more commonly associated with the southern Greek islands. Grown in the high-altitude vineyards of Macedonia, it shows impressive linearity and precision with delicate aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and summer flowers. The wine is taut and clean on the palate, driven by vibrant acidity and a strong sense of inner tension. By cultivating Assyrtiko in northern Greece, Kir-Yianni captures a cooler, more restrained expression of the variety, emphasizing freshness, aromatic finesse and mineral structure."
