REGION: Basque Country

Roca Altxerri is named for the Altxerri Cave, located in the Basque country, which is home to the oldest stone paintings in Europe, dating back almost 40,000 years. Two sustainably grown (using organic and biodynamic methods), hand-harvested hectares are planted on seaside hills.

The Ulacia estate, above the small fishing port of Getaria in the heart of Basque Country, has been family owned since the 1940’s. The winery produces a small amount of light, petillant white Txacoli (most of which is consumed locally) and also a delightful rosé.
