Silver Ghost Cellars

At the heart of Silver Ghost Cellars is Weston Eidson, winemaker and owner, whose journey into the world of winemaking began at his grandfather’s table. Growing up surrounded by the aromas and stories of wine, Weston’s grandfather was not just a connoisseur but a collector, particularly drawn to wines from the regions of Bordeaux, Napa Valley and Alsace.

In 2012, Weston and his wife embarked on a transformative trip to Napa Valley. Inspired by the beauty of the vineyards and the craftsmanship of the winemakers, Weston took a leap of faith. Taking a sabbatical from his job, he immersed himself in the art of winemaking, working alongside the winemaker at Modus Operandi during harvest.  One afternoon while out checking brix in the vineyards, fate intervened—a chance encounter with Steve Matthiasson, who happened to have a few tons of Chardonnay awaiting a purpose, marked a turning point. Weston seized the opportunity and purchased the grapes, the unofficial beginning of Silver Ghost Cellars. This serendipitous encounter set the stage for a collection of wines that reflect Weston’s dedication, craftsmanship, and the essence of those early moments at his grandfather’s table.

Weston adopted the name of his great-grandfather’s favorite car for his winery- the 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost- as a tribute to his family and inspiration. At Silver Ghost Cellars, each bottle tells a story – a narrative of heritage, passion, and the profound connection between family and the art of winemaking.
