Altamente

Altamente

Altamente vinos is a family project created and nurtured by Fernando Barrena (of Azul y Garanza) and his wife, Marian. Located in a valley 900 meters high over a shallow and calcareous soil and under a mountain climate influenced by the Mediterranean Sea, conditions are perfect for the production of the highest quality wine: elegant, well-balanced and highly fruity.  In short, Monastrell in its purest form.

The valley soil is calcareous, sandy and stony, so what it lacks in nutrients it makes up for in water retention. Yields per hectare are between 2,000-4,000 with harvesting done by hand. Almost the 80% of the vineyard is with Pie Franco (without American root) and the age average of the vines is around 30 years old. Small steel tanks are used to separate the wine from plots (4,000 to 20,000 L).

100% of the vineyards are bio certified, immersed in a beautiful landscape full of biodiversity.
