"With fruit sourced from five villages across the appellation, the Domaine Skouras 2024 Nemea Agiorgitiko Saint George offers a fresh and primary expression of Greece's flagship red grape. Approximately half of the wine is aged in neutral oak, adding texture without imposing obvious wood character. Dimitris Skouras deliberately avoids an overly robust style, instead favoring freshness and drinkability. The wine shows a medium garnet appearance with aromas of cassis, violet and subtle clove, while hints of tobacco can emerge depending on the vintage. The palate is clean and balanced with bright acidity, modest weight and an emphasis on pure fruit rather than concentration."

"Skouras's entry-level Agiorgitiko, this is a terrific introduction to the variety as well as just plain tasty. It's as brisk as you'd infer from its translucent red colour, with a cool, foresty spice and bright acidity lifting the juicy cherry fruit. At under $20 in the US, it's a great buy for summer drinking, especially if you have a backyard and a grill. GV (TQT)"
