"Tasted from the tank, the just-blended 2022 Spätburgunder many different genetics is from fruit sourced in the Zeltinger Himmelreich and the Kinheim Rosenberg and was fermented with 10% to 15% whole clusters. The wine opens with a concentrated and aromatic bouquet of red berries and cherries as well as toasty notes and the purity and freshness of Mosel slate. Silky, lush and refined on the palate, this is a charmingly round and silky-textured Pinot with refreshing lemon aromas on the intense and aromatic finish. The wine shows very fine tannins and a lingering salinity and indicates remarkable complexity. Tasted as a sample in early November 2023; it will be bottled in later November."

"The bright-colored 2021 Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir in the US) opens with a bright and floral as well as smoky bouquet that is still a bit untamed and asks for aeration. Silky, fresh and savory on the palate, this is a medium-bodied, lush but straight and mineral Pinot from the crystalline slate soils of Zeltingen and Kinheim. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 48 22 in November 2023."
