"#59 Top 100 Wines of Australia: This is a traditional Australian shiraz in the best sense, with a wealth of black, red and ripe orange fruit. Deep and rich, with a stunningly fine tannin structure and a lovely blood orange freshness at the long, structured and spicy finish. Excellent aging potential. Drink or hold. Screw cap."

"A routinely impressive estate from all kinds of angles, Best's in the Great Western region of Victoria continually produces brilliant value for money wines, and this 2020 Great Western Shiraz Bin No 1 is a fine example of that reputation. It is reductive upon opening but peels off to reveal a silky bed of red and purple fruits in the mouth, with blackberry, licorice, raspberry and nori. The shape of the tannins in the mouth tend toward ductile and pliable, rather than firm or soft and show a wonderful flexibility as the wine moves around the mouth. Super smart, value drinking here. Circa $25AUD."
