"This drinks well above regional level with a lovely density of fresh peach and nectarine coupled with citrus, chalk and a hint of reduction. The palate is packed full of fruit driven character with salt and chalk, cut through with a fine line of acidity leaving a generous yet nervy finish. The premiere release of this wine coming from declassified young vines from premier and grand cru sites in the newly appointed Welzbachtal sub region."

"The 2025 Riesling Welzbachtal is a new wine in the portfolio, representing the limestone and iron ore of this valley. This was made half in a large, used barrel and half in stainless steel. Tender flintiness and some gunmetal on the nose speak of reduction but peach already peeks through. The palate retains a little of that reductive vibe, creating a sense of smoky peach, leavened by ripe lemon. The body is rounded in shape, juicy but compact and contoured, absolutely held in check by lemon zestiness while expressing the generosity and poise of 2025. This has proper length and gorgeous balance. (Bone-dry)"
