"The 2024 Riesling Goldberg, from volcanic amphibolite, still crackles with flinty reduction on the nose. A shy, closed palate charms with a slight overtone of passion fruit but promises much more. Tingling brightness at the citric core radiates freshness and the concentration of ripe citrus zest is a beautiful pointer for the future. Give this time; the length of flavor promises fireworks ahead."

"The 2023 Riesling Goldberg was fermented in a large, neutral barrel. The palate is slender with stoniness and great linearity, almost austere, with just lemon and lemon balm, but mouth-filling nonetheless. There are hints of nectarine peel and peach skin alongside zestiness. The vivid citrus on the mid-palate is absolutely zesty and has a lip-smacking finish. (Bone-dry)"

"This rich, medium- to full-bodied dry riesling has a lot going for it, but the touch of tannins in the finish puts the brakes on. That's a shame, because it has a wealth of precise Mirabelle plum notes on the nose and the front of the palate. Drink or hold."
