"The 2024 Albariño Alma de Mar from a vineyard in Castrelo, Salnés, Rías Baixas that is right by the sea. Recently bottled, it is the only wine in the range to receive lees work. Fermented on lees, it opens with notes of anise, pear and white fruit, followed by a touch of custard, pastry, bread crust and rose petal. The palate is unctuous yet delicately fresh, with a smooth texture, creamy midpalate and saline finish. This is appealing, with an interesting flavor profile."

"Alma de Mar, as its name suggests, comes from a single, 0.3-hectare parcel that's rightnext to the sea in Castrelo. Showing the weight and intensity of the 2022, as well as classicAtlantic freshness, it marries aromas of iodine and seaweed with a wet stone, citrus zestand brioche palate. 2024-29."

"Aromas of white flowers and lemon zest with hints of oyster shells. The palate is long and conservative but suspenseful and captivating. This is from a single 44-year-old vineyard planted on shallow granite soils. Fermented and aged exclusively in stainless steel. Already great but better in two years."

"The 2022 Alma de Mar is Albari¤o from a vineyard that was planted in the 1980s, 0.3 hectares on granite soils with some clay. This is the only white where they work the lees with b'tonnage, 100% in stainless steel for eight months. It's subtly smoky and leesy, with ripe yellow fruit and a moderate 13% alcohol for a very warm and dry year, keeping the balance and poise, with a pH of 3.36 and six grams of acidity. It has a round palate and a sense of elegance and harmony that is remarkable for the year. 2,666 bottles were filled in November 2023."

"I only tasted the 2021 Alma de Mar, because the 2022 had not yet been bottled when I visited the winery in September 2023. It comes from a vineyard planted in the 1980s, 0.3 hectares on granite soils with some clay. This is the only Albari¤o where they work the lees with b'tonnage, 100% in stainless steel. It's quite smoky and leesy, with a round palate and integrated acidity. 2,400 bottles were produced."

"Tasted blind. Mineral, delicate, citric. A wine with a very citric profile, with nerve. Tight and long. Very pleasant profile, in the fine style. Austere on the nose and tight on the palate. (FC)"
