A Touriga Nacional-based blend of traditional Douro red varieties, grown on schist-sandstone soils at 600 meters of elevation • Primary fermentation is arrested with addition of neutral grape-based spirit • Tawny port is a style marked by the nutty oxidative characteristics of long aging in oak barrels and long shelf life once opened • Casks of different years are then blended to achieve the desired age character – in Kopke’s case, the age on the label is the average age of all the wines in the blend • 20% ABV • 114g/L residual sugar

"Kopke is the oldest of all the Port wine houses having been established in 1638. They produce outstanding tawnies (and aged whites) at all levels, up to and including a new 50 Year Old Tawny. Pale orange -amber in colour, this is gently toasted on the nose with lovely fresh citrus and dried fruit and smooth, savoury complexity on the finish."

"Subtle, with a perfumy profile of cinnamon, powdered ginger, hazelnut husk and toasted sesame notes leading the way, backed by mouthwatering date and dried fig details and a lengthy finish. - JM"

"Brine and roasted almonds with underlying dried white fruit. Elegant and medium-sweet with medium body and a lightly briny finish. Bottled in 2022. Drink now."
