Schloss Gobelsburg Pinot Noir Reserve

The Cistercian monks brought Pinot Noir to Langenlois from their ancient homeland of Burgundy. The gravely soils south of Gobelsburg are ideal for this varietal as the calcareous content allows for good drainage.

"The 2020 Pinot Noir Reserve still shows slight reduction in the form of a touch of flint, but is nonetheless promising and made with a knowing, light touch. The body is as translucent as the color—fine-boned, scented with conifer, bright and fresh in its tender, red-fruited aroma. This is bright, fresh and smooth and has a scented, tender quality that is only enhanced by that fine, web-like tannin structure and bright, polished acidity. This is Pinot that is truly allowed to be Pinot—no fat, no makeup, just pristine and lovely, pure fruit. (Bone-dry)"
