"A concentrated, deeply structured dry riesling with intense minerality on the firm, medium-bodied palate. The fine chalky tannins interlock beautifully with the cool citrus acidity and discreet creaminess from long lees contact and some malolactic fermentation. Long, complete finish. From organically grown grapes, 80% from the Steinacker GG site and 20% from young vines in the Honigberg. Vinified completely in large neutral oak. Drink or hold."

"The 2023 Riesling Nieder-Hilbersheim was harvested 80% in the Steinacker site and 20% in Honigberg, an elevated, northwest-facing site rising to 260 meters on limestone with iron ore. It was fermented completely in Halbstück and Stück. While slight reduction appears here, too, this has a different nature"smokier, stonier. The palate speaks of the limestone coolness and serene, bright, pure ripe lemon. Elongated, tangy, flowing and juicy, it boasts a lovely undertow of salt and nerve. (Bone-dry)"

"Tense but with some floral notes as well as all the intense minerality. Still youthful but with so much fruit it seems more approachable than the Appenheimer. Leaves its imprint on the palate!"

"This remarkably expressive village wine is wild and cool. It feels sleek in spite of the mid-palate creaminess. A wide spectrum of green fruit aromas, ranging from greengage plums to limes. Very long and focused finish with great minerally acidity. From organically grown grapes, primarily from the Steinacker GG site plus some from young vines in the Honigberg GG site, both high-altitude, windy locations. Vinified completely in large neutral oak. Drink or hold."

"The 2024 Riesling Nieder-Hilbersheim is from the village's unique mix of Tertiary limestone and iron ore. This was mostly picked in the Steinacker site, with a smaller portion from Honigberg. It fermented entirely in larger formats of used oak. Flintiness and stony verve immediately suggest a breezy expression. This has a mere suggestion of peach on the cooling, soothing body that homes in on mouth-watering pithiness. Bone-dry"

"The wine™s racy style, marked with light flintiness and spice up front, is followed by the concentrated flavors of Fuji apple, mineral and glazed citrus. There are tropical fruit hints midpalate, with a lightly spiced finish that features plenty of dry extract. Skurnik Wines, Inc. "A.Z."
