"This opens with aromas of chamomile, white flowers, stones and a subtle hint of fennel. The palate is delineated, distinct and refined, with compact stone fruit running through its core and a saline thread that gives it energy. The finish is intense and vibrant, showing impressive length and contained ripeness that unfolds with elegance. This is the producer™s top single vineyard, planted on a northeastern-facing site in the vicinity of Alpartir. Drink now or hold."

"The super pale and subtle white 2022 El Jardín de las Iguales Macabeo is a wine that feels a lot younger than it is, undeveloped and young. It comes from the same vineyard, a centenary plot, and with the same process as in previous years, fermented and matured in a 1,000-liter oak foudre. It has a complex nose with notes of dry yellow flowers and pollen and a round palate with texture, chalky minerality and a very long finish. It is complete and complex, just a more tender than the 2021, which was more chiseled. This is a wine that really grows in bottle. It was a success to hold it for one year before releasing it, and that's why the vintage in the market is one year older than the red. 1,305 bottles produced, a good year for quality and quantity. It was bottled in July 2024."

"The 2022 Macabeo Jardín de las Iguales from Aragón opens with nutty aromas alongside soft baked apple, grapefruit peel, herbs and a faint diesel note. Saline and compact on the palate, it delivers freshness and a fine talc-like texture on the finish. An original, characterful white with real personality"the kind that arises not from technique alone or from the vineyard itself, but from the seamless sum of both."

"The white 2021 El Jard¡n de las Iguales Macabeo is truly spectacular. I tasted it next to all the other vintages of this wine, and I believe it's the nicest so far. It has complexity and depth, layered and nuanced, precise, clean like a laser cut, with a vibrant palate, pungent flavors and acidity that makes you salivate, with tension and backbone. The first vintage, the 2016, is still young and lively, and there's a lot more precision here; so, I guess this is going to age for a long time in bottle. It fermented and aged in a 1,000-liter oak foudre for one year."

"The 2021 Macabeo Jardín de las Iguales from Aragón presents aromas of ripe green apple, marine nuances, nutty undertones, vermouth hints and wild herbs. Broad, saline and chalky, it delivers a long, nuanced palate with depth and definition. This wine speaks unmistakably of Spain, combining sun-driven ripeness with fine-grained chalk texture. It achieves the perfect balance between Mediterranean warmth and a respectful reading of the soil."

"Complex and concentrated, with a yellow-fruit core, orange blossom and roasted almonds. The gentle grippy texture and very bright acidity make it very appealing and make me think of enjoying it with food. The finish is very long, perfumed and pleasantly nutty. (FG)"

"The 2020 El Jardín de las Iguales Macabeo was produced with the grapes from a singular vineyard that was planted in 1890 on sloped slate soils. The grapes were picked on September 4 and fermented in a 1,000-liter oak foudre with indigenous yeasts after 40 hours of maceration with the skins. It matured in the foudre for 12 months. It has 13.5% alcohol and remarkable freshness (pH 3.12 and 6.2 grams of acidity). It follows the line of the 2019; I see both vintages as very complete, nuanced, elegant and fresh. This is a little slimmer, and there's more electricity. It's a little more floral and very tasty. Only 812 bottles were filled in April 2022."

"The top white, the same as the top red, comes from a magnificent vineyard planed in the 1890s. The 2017 El Jard¡n de las Iguales Macabeo is the second vintage for this wine, from a year that was dry and warm and resulted in an early harvest. The vines are quite tall, as they have been pruned like that, and normally have three arms; they are planted on a northwest-facing slope rich in slate at around 700 meters in altitude and give very low yields, which means concentration and freshness. It fermented in a 1,100-liter oak foudre with indigenous yeasts, where it was kept with lees and later transferred to used 500-liter oak barrels. It has a very Burgundian nose, somehow closer to the 2018 La Loma & Los Santos (a blend of Garnacha Blanca and Macabeo) than the 2018 vintage of El Jard¡n de las Iguales Macabeo. There are lots of flowers and pollen, spices and a touch of smoke. The palate is seamless, compact, with power and length, still a little marked by the šlevage. It should improve with some more time in bottle. Only 631 bottles were filled in February 2019."
