"The Aori 2023 Kotsifali offers a more focused and linear expression of the variety than the 2024 release, in my opinion. A touch of reduction on opening quickly gives way to bright red fruit, savory herbs and mineral notes shaped by the estate's high-altitude schist soils. The wine feels more tightly wound and precise. While Kotsifali is often associated with easy-drinking charm, this bottling shows a more serious side, emphasizing freshness, structure and site expression. Distinctive and highly original, this was my preference of the two vintages tasted (2023 and 2024), and it benefits from an extra year in bottle."
