  • Distilled from Jabali (A. convallis)
  • Agave is cooked in an earthen oven, milled using a traditional stone tahona mill, then fermented with natural yeast in oak vats
  • Distilled twice in a clay pot still
  • Rested for 1 year in glass before bottling
  • Red plum, cantaloupe rind, saltwater taffy, jasmine, grapefruit zest, parsnips, fresh crayons, purple flowers, wet stone or bricks, and maybe there’s an old shaggy dog lurking nearby who needs a bath…
  • 69% ABV      

Another gangbuster bottling of the puntas (the “heads” or higher octane first cut of the distillation run) from Gonzalo and family! Among the highest ABV mezcales we’ve tasted, there’s plenty of thunder packed into this batch, yet this potentially ferocious spirit has not ceded its shimmering beauty to the kind of blistering heat we’d expect at 69% ABV.
