Indian Single Malt Whisky Cask Strength DRU Indri
  • Cask strength single malt whisky produced by Piccadily Distilleries in Indri, Haryana, India
  • Distilled from indigenous six-row barley
  • Twice distilled in copper pot stills
  • Aged in ex-bourbon barrels; non-age statement
  • Robust aromas of citrus fruit and spice with vanilla, chocolate, and honey on the nose; a sweet, fruit-forward palate echoes the nose, dialing in the confection and baking spice notes; full-bodied and complex with a long, fruity finish
  • No added coloring
  • Non-chill filtered; bottled at a cask strength of 57.2% ABV

Dru translates to “wood, tree, or vessel made of wood” in Sanskrit and refers to a vessel used to collect and offer drink (soma) to the gods of Vedic mythology—a fitting name to showcase this unadulterated, cask strength Indian single malt aged entirely in ex-bourbon barrels.

"Matured in bourbon barrels in a climate that leads to significant evaporation, the nose has deep vanilla, dark chocolate, orange zest, toasted oak, roasted hazelnut, heather honey, and subtle nutmeg spice. It takes water well and reveals its layers, but neat, there's a fathomless pool of dark chocolate, supported by orange, vanilla pod, praline, clove, warm honey, and Brazil nut. This one is a real late-night treat."
