Dhroner Has’chen:
Has’chen, a Monopole, is an east-facing steep slope on the west bank of the Mosel and still planted with old un-grafted vines. This tiny 0.3 ha vineyard overlooks the Mosel and is on a rather stony soil of grey slate. 2014 was the first vintage of this vineyard at the Andreas’ hands and he produced right from the start a stunning dry wine full of character and presence: “We decided to use this east-facing vineyard for lighter styled wines. The first vintage, which we made from fruit harvested at a modest 89° oechsle, showed us the potential of the vineyard. The wine is elegant, without being unnecessary showy, and in nice contrast to the more ostentatious wines from the Dhroner Hofberg on the other side of the Mosel.”

"This is beautifully ripe for a dry Mosel riesling, with fragrant peach and white flower aromas plus a hint of floral honey. I love the feeling of stillness on the medium-bodied palate, which has stacks of structure and minerality but remains gentle. Long, stony finish. From an 0.275-hectare monopole niche site with ungrafted vines planted in the 1930s. Drink or hold."

"The 2023 Riesling Dhroner Häs'chen Grosses Gewächs comes from a site of seven steep terraces, just a quarter of a hectare, facing east and planted in the early 1930s. The Adam siblings restored and recultivated this site, which benefits from global warming. The nose is shy, with just a touch of apple. The palate is all lemon, beautifully delineated with juice, peel and pith, linear and long. That lovely pithiness is tender and lends contour to this attractive, long wine. Gorgeously taut and so singular."

"The 2024 Riesling Dhroner Häs'chen Grosses Gewächs was picked on a tiny, east-facing site just below the forest that consists of seven terraces, with vines that are just over 90 years old. A gorgeous citrus aroma on the nose is reminiscent of green oranges. It has a wonderful coolness, lightness, svelteness and smoothness. There is a lovely, subtle sense of grapefruit pith on the firm, fine body. Bone-dry"

"From Drhoner Häs™chen, a monopole where the Adam siblings farm ungrafted vines planted in the 1930s, this riesling has delicate aromatics. It layers umami notes of mushroom powder and flint with subtle sweetness in the end."
