"From the Steingrüble parcel, the 2021 Gutedel ST opens with an intense and flinty as well as floral bouquet with notes of crushed stones and herbs and a remarkably intense and ripe fruit. From a warmer part of the slope on Oxfordian limestone rocks in the Efringer –lberg, this is an intense and structural Chassleas with fine tannins and stimulating lime zest bitters on the finish. Aged for nearly two years on the lees. This is a substantial, age-worthy Chasselas that needs 2-3 years to soften its tannic edges. 10% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted at the domaine in February 2024."
