"The 2024 Grüner Veltliner Privat Ried Kirchenberg Herzstück is picked from five south-east-facing terraces of mica schist just below the church and next to the winery. It was harvested superbly ripe but without any botrytis in late November, then fermented and aged in used large acacia barrel. The nose is rich with savor and ripeness; crushed yarrow and salty yeast are as present as maple syrup and a touch of licorice. Despite the undoubted ripeness and richness, definition and precision prevail. A savory heart propels celery salt, while concentration almost adds the texture of ripe plum skin with a slight but supple, mouthwatering, gentle bitterness. This wine has statuesque structure, flow and much energy that will take years to unfold. Martin Nigl says that he could not achieve this on loess; this level of ripeness and precision is only possible on schist."

"So creamy and dreamy, this very elegant gruner veltliner has great underplayed power and a very sensuous mouthfeel. You'd never believe this has 13.5% alcohol, thanks to the animating acidity and mountain freshness. The concentration really shows in the very long, stony and spicy finish."

"The 2022 Grüner Veltliner Ried Kirchenberg Herzstück is a small site extending from the winery, facing southeast, sheltered, on mica schist with slightly more topsoil. The nose has just gentle, subtle spice on its timid nose. It is on the palate that the roundness becomes apparent, with juicier stone fruit edged equally with pepper and citrus. The 2022 is a most charming wine, always with that vivid pepper and lovely length. (Bone-dry)"

"There's beautiful range to the fragrant notes of melon, peach and green pineapple in this ripe yet firmly structured Grüner. Concentrated and harmonious, with earthy tones of lentil, celery seed and fennel, all built upon a foundation of racy mineral energy. Creamy and long, showing liveliness and power. Drink now through 2030. 15 cases imported."

"This is powerful and rich, with intense apricot, honey, peach and spice. It is quite creamy as well and builds up to the finish that's loaded with spice and butterscotch notes. ‡ Aleks Zecevic"
