Tasting Notes

The base (70%) is 2013, and the rest is a perpetual reserve that was begun in 2005. Disg 2/2017, and the wine is back in form, even with the fresh disgorgement. Pinot Noir aromas lead to a highly vinous palate; round yet glossy and salty, with a ton of potential. The wine is 70-30 PN-CH, with the CH hailing from Verzenay. By the way, previous editions of this wine suggested that at least some of the Verzenay aroma is actually the smell of Chardonnay from the commune. —Terry Theise
