• Destilado de Agave produced in Lodo Grande, Guerrero
• Maestro Mezcalero Lorenzo González Leyda
• Produced from 100% Papalote (A. cupreata)
• Cooked in an earthen pit oven; milled with a small mechanical shredder
• Fermented in white pine (ayacahuite) tanks using spring water
• Distilled twice using traditional copper pot stills
• Fresh mint, wet clay, Bosc pear, Flintstones vitamin C tablet, strawberry seed, a hint of canteloupe, a touch of iron, chocolate-coverered cherry, white flowers, and pepper
• 200 liters produced
• 50% ABV

Benchmark cupreata from Guerrero—this batch offers many of the flavors and aromas we typically expect to find in the category, only here it’s as though a highlighter was taken to them, emphasizing each of these distinct notes in turn; mint, melon, vitamin C tablet, milk chocolate, soft pepper, bitter strawberry…the gang’s all here, and they came to play. Delicious on its own; educational in any flight.
